“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to (cleave unto) his wife, and they shall become one flesh” Genesis 2:24

So, there we have it. Most Christians know this verse. Many can quote it. But often, people focus on the latter part of the scripture—the becoming one flesh part. Sure, there’ much to be learned in that phrase. But today I’d like to explore the meaning of the word cleave, or joined to, and ponder how this interesting word might lighten the load for the long haul of marriage many of us are in.Continue reading

Why does God Allow Suffering?

Why does God allow Suffering?

It’s the age-old question asked by believers and skeptics like.

It’s the question you may ask when you see the injustice of poverty in a nation of plenty, or hear of an innocent child riddled with cancer.

It was the question uttered by an old man from his hospital bed, death knocking at his door.

Easy to make, packed with vitamins, Kale Chips

Make a batch for an after-school snack, or to munch on while watching TV. You’ll gobble these spicy, crispy bites up!

The key is to start with Kale that has been washed and allowed to dry completely. I lay the leaves out on paper towel and let them air dry for 30 minutes or so after rinsing. This results in crispier chips.Continue reading
